From our perceptive, we hope this page will best answer most of the questions you may want to ask or issues you may want to know.
Question: When and where was the SCYL created?
Answer: The SCYL was founded on May 28, 1995 in the Federal Capital Territory of Buea.
Question: Why was it formed?
Answer: The SCYL was formed as the answer to the treacherous attitude of the leadership of the SCNC; the answer to Biya’s barbaric despotism; the answer to the West double-standard and conspiracy.
Question: Is the SCYL the Youth Wing or Movement of the SCNC?
Answer: The SCYL is not, and will never be neither the Youth Movement of the SCNC nor any other Movement involve in the Southern Cameroons Cause. The SCNC has no Youth Wing.
Question: Why do most people consider the SCYL as the Youth Wing or militant Wing of the SCNC?
Answer: People misconstrued the SCYL to be the Youth Wing of the SCNC because since its birth, the SCYL has always work hand in hand with the SCNC and the other sisters organizations like SCARM, AMBAZONIA, and now SCAPO. We work together to
further the Cause of Freedom not to submerge our identity. But due to our very buoyant activism, we have been doing the job, the odd jobs, at times, taking the bullets, keeping the Cause alive, and the SCNC has been doing just one thing:
taking the credits for all our efforts and we too have been silent because we thought they too really want freedom, but helas, they are out to seek power, empty power.
Question: Is there an SCNC Cause?
Answer: No! There is no SCNC Cause but there is the Southern Cameroons Cause. Talking of an SCNC Cause will be doing a real disservice to the other great movements like AMBAZONIA, SCAPO, and SCARM who too are involve in the Southern Cameroons
Cause for Freedom.
Question: Why the name Southern Cameroons Youth League?
Answer: It is just something that is so sacred, so appealing to our consciences that brought about the name. We equally chose the name because we wanted to break away from the past, from the old guards whose history and tales are tainted with
acts of betrayals and treachery. We wanted to be what we are: the segment of the Southern Cameroons bruised and battered history that really feels the pains and anguish of these decades of dehumanizing brutality. This is
why we chose the name, to serve as a symbol of hope for our young brothers and sisters, and for the generations of Children yet unborn so that they will obtain a legacy of true peace and freedom which brings in justice and democracy.
Question: Is there a problem existing between the SCNC and the SCYL?
Answer: Yes, of course, there is a problem, a big problem. It centers on the internal struggle for power within the SCNC and the unbending resolve for the virtues of freedom by the SCYL. The SCNC has become a fragmented and dishonored movement
were the old guards are using to put our genuine Cause on a permanent static condition, at times never forward, but a million times backward and the SCYL has refused to be caught in this criminal web. When we stand for the truth, they call us arrogant
and vandals but when we take the sides of any, we become their heroes. So far as the SCNC or whosoever wants the Southern Cameroons Cause to become a paper and speeches tiger's issue, the SCYL will never condone with them.
Question: What therefore really is the SCYL?
Answer: The SCYL is the only place were the brave and courageous gather to face the tyrant and his acolytes; it is the last hope of a people who have been rendered hopeless; it is the only inspiration for those whose spirits for the Cause have
become deadened due to unbelievable acts of betrayals; it is the only true extinguisher to break hardened walls of brutality, gross human rights abuses and the illegal intercourse between despotism and annexation; it is the place for true martyrs and
real heroes.
Question: What is the Membership of the SCYL?

Question: Who can be a member?

Question: Who issues Membership Cards and where can one obtain a Card?
Answer: All Membership Cards of the SCYL are dully issued by the Secretariat.
Question: Is the SCYL a Political Party?

alone but for all who cherish freedom and supports the Southern Cameroons Total Independence Drive.
