Died on 30th April 2003 at a very young age of 23 at the Maximum Security Prison of Yaounde
, Cameroon. |
|
For more than four (4) years we have known Daniel as a political prisoner, a member of
the Minority Anglophone Community, victim of injustice without any rights and without a destiny as a result of total and characterised misery. |
|
Within these four years, three companions of Daniel have died in this famous prison. We have been
anxiously waiting for the last four yesrs for the retrial of these prisoners under a just legal framework; waiting in vain that they will be liberated. |
Daniel was a loyal and faithful christian of the Roman Catholic Church. We are hereby today offering him a
Special Requiem Mass for his thoughts and to pray for him, his colleagues, his Country and Government. |

In this moment also, we are asking the Government of Cameroun to treat these prisoners and others humanly, to
offer necessary and timely medical assistance and to allow the Anglophone Prisoners in the Yaounde Prison a DUE PROCESS before a Competent Court which will upheld the minimal standard of
internationally acceptable norms. |
Dear Daniel, we and Amnesty International - St. Gallen Group, and friends of AI in Holland and
in Germany will never forget you and your 17 Prison Companions in Cameroon.

Just what we know for now who have died in the hands of Paul Biya, Africa's most silent but ruthless dictator. Assassinating Southern Cameroons activist especially
members of the Southern Cameroons Youth League has now become a new sport for Biya. And the best the world is doing is talking, talking, talking, while we are dying, dying and dying. For
how long should we stay alof and give Biya and his acolytes the believe that we love what they are doing to us? For how long are we going to baby the dragon?
